More TV news stories

I recently completed an internship at NBN News in Newcastle. It was good fun and I learned a lot. I also got to interview British billionaire Sir Richard Branson!

I didn't get any packages put to air, which is when the anchor introduces a story, and then a journalist starts narrating the story. I was mainly doing what are known as VOs and VSs. A VO is when the newsreader keeps reading the story while footage is shown, and a VS is the same thing but with a grab (a quote) in the story somewhere.

Anyway, I got a couple of packages cut by the media production intern who was also there. These didn't go to air, but are very useful in terms of applying for jobs. I've put them up on YouTube so potential employers can see them, but I've also embedded them here.

I've put the last one I did first, and the first one I did last (it's a bit biblical, isn't it?), and you can hear the changes in my voice as I got more comfortable with the equipment and listened to what the other journos were doing. I'm still not sure if I'm completley happy with my voice, but I think it was a big improvement.
